Planting flowers with Noni

Your Noni came over one day and let you help her plant some flowers.  You were such a big helper!  You followed her commands so well.  :)

Grown up stuff

You think you are all grown up...

You wanted to sit at your big kid table for breakfast.

You still have time to play with your friend in the curtains/blinds.

You love chocolate...and dodge pictures.

You read cards all by yourself.

Then, you tell me what they say. :)

18 months

A year and half of our life has flown by...

You love books and constantly bring us books to read to you.  You snuggle up on the couch with us or in our laps for story time...we love it too!

You talk so much! Most, or some, is actually quite understandable.

You are your mother's child as ice and macaroni and cheese are two of your favorite things.  You also are crazy about bread...any kind...and when you see it you quickly make it known that you would like some.

You are great with "first time obedience" when candy is involved... :/

Diving from one peice of furniture to another is how you choose to pass your time.

You have developed quite an interest in your trucks and cars.

You want to drink straight from the open cup or juice bottle.  I usually give you the empty bottles and let you play with them...you think there is still something left and sometimes there is!

You have become very difficult to photograph...when you see the camera come out you want the camera...you get super close and reach out for it as seen in the below pictures.

You have great hand eye coordination and can put the lids back on with no assistance. When you were a bitty baby your PawPaw said you were going to be a brain surgeon...

Ready for your close up. :)

Playing with your farm truck.

Anytime you see feet you tickle them while saying, "tickle, tickle, tickle."

You love putting things in (and getting things out of) the trash.

You weighed a whopping 23 pounds and were 32 inches long at 18 months old.

Month 17

This is from our recent Vegas trip...we need pics from JuJu and I need to be better about taking/uploading pictures...

You love:
-Taking my pony tail holder out and playing with it.  When I ask you to put it back in my hair, you set it on top of my head and clap.
-The clock radio in our room!  When you wake up we usually bring you into our bed for morning snuggles.  You figured out a while ago exactly which button to push to make the music.  You smile so big and start dancing!
-Playing in the toilet. :/  Really, any water-bath, washing your hands in the sink, my cup, etc.
-Strawberries!  You call them baburrs
-Bubbles....well, you like to hold the wand and the bottle, you don't care too much for the bubbles I blow.
-Hot Air Balloons!  Maybe this is more me, but we have to best view of the balloons from our patio.
-Being outside...and we live in the best place for this.

New Things:
-You say, "mmmm" when you drink or eat something that is particularly yummy.  Most of the time you do it when you take a drink of cold milk or eat something super sweet.
-You learned how to sign sorry from your friend, E, always having to tell you that he's sorry (for pushing or hitting you).  You plopped down in E's mama's lap the other day and E did not like that much so he tried to push you off.  She told him to tell you that he was sorry and you signed sorry on his chest.  I couldn't believe it!  Too funny!!
-You will fold your hands and be patient when we ask you to...for about 2 seconds.  We're working on the patient part!

Cute:
-You still make this O face...usually when you hear the garbage truck, blender, vaccuum or just something out of the ordinary your mouth makes an O and your eyes get big in the cute-surprised-wonder face.

16 months!

Between your 15th and 16th month birthdays you learned so much!

You discovered the joys of playing in the toilet. :/

Sign:  We haven't done any new ones...more, milk, all done, please, thank you, eat and hat.  You also wave hi and bye.  You can also show us how to chew.

Animal sounds:  Dog, fish, sheep, bear, horse, cow, bird.  You know that your "Tickle Me Elmo" says teeteetee (tickle tickle tickle).

Say:  You can pretty much mimic whatever I ask you to say or whatever sound I make like "Shewwe."  There are still a few words that you just give me a blank look when I ask you to say it.  You work hard to say words like I said them.  Here's a list:  Mama, Dada, PawPaw, Mzz (Gramzee), Bampa (Grandpa Dave), Nawnaw (Noni), Dawdaw (Aunt Dar), Nayna (Aunt Dayna), K-K (Uncle Clint), Ora (Cora), Nana (Anna), Onon (John John), NaNa (Nate Nate), Bubba (Unlce Jim), Blank Look (Aunt Jill), Ake (Jake), E (Jed), Ooo (Luke), Ee (Evie), K Bu (Unlce Biggs), Blank Look (Aunt Katie),  Eeeze (cheese and keys), Chicken, Cracker, Jacket,  Wawa (water and wagon), Hah (hot), Brrr (cold), No-no, Bibi (Bible), Bye-bye, Dipi (diaper), nana (Banana), baba (baby)

Teeth:  top front 4, bottom front 4, first 2 bottom molers (you're working on these now and have been such a great teether...just a little fussier than normal.)

You are a fearless climber!  Just today I think I lost years off my life when you 1) flopped/tumbled down about 7 stairs at our friend's new house and 2) just a minute ago when you were trying to climb from your little table chair to your high chair...table chair fell over with one of your legs under it and one on top and through the square hole in the back.  My stomach still hurts as I am sort of feeling like a "bad" mom while still being thankful that God kept you from serious injury.  Whew!  This is what they mean when other moms say their boys are "keeping them on their toes."

You like to squeeze through small places...and are very determined to get through and to the other side.

You love to be back in corners or the dark bathroom or closet.  As if you are already playing hide-n-seek.

You are so sweet and cuddly!  You will crawl up in my lap and give me the best hug and snuggle for a bit.  I guess I often say "Awwww" when you do this because you have started saying "Awwww" when you give me a hug.  You give the best hugs...to me.  :/  You are still very much (maybe even more than before) a Mama's Boy.  I love it!

You walk down the hall towards my room looking for and calling your, "Dada."  You walk into the room and over to your Dad's side of the bed pointing and saying, "Dada" over and over.  I don't think you understand where he goes all day.

Sorry, no pictures.
