Two weeks old

A little photo shoot with our 2 week old little cutie.

This dress came from Great Aunt Nancy...you can tell our girl feels like a little princess in it. ;)

I wore this dress when I was a wee babe.

Big bro is still enjoying life...even if he has to share attention. ;)

Pumpkin Patch

Our first major family outting as a party of 4 was to the Pumpkin Patch!

Happy Fall!

Thanks to Uncle Dan and Allison for the costume.

Aunt Dar made sure our girl had an outfit for the occasion

We tried...

Again.

Whoa, can we have this one?!

This was right before he chunked that white pumpkin. :/

Loved sitting in this not moving car.

Did not love riding the train...

Looks too big!

Bow Snatcher

Here is baby girl at 5 days old.  Already calling the Hogs.  Big bro already snatching those bows. :)

It's been a tough season baby sis...there's always next year.

Caught!  Look at that face.

Now this one...seems to say, "What bow?"
Sibling love

Looking cool. ;)

She's Here!

What started with Levi in a big brother t-shirt led to a cupcake with pink frosting...

to celebrate and tell the big bro he was having a baby sister!  For a while I think he thought pink cupcakes were baby sisters.  ;)  Then, my belly started to grow and grow and grow.  Big brother lost some lap space but was sweet to bring my belly toys and give it kisses and somewhat gentle pats.

We've had a hard time photographing the life and times of our #1 baby so in true 2nd baby form there are fewer photos documenting her life.  The above photo was one of the photos taken of pregnancy #2 and was taken the day before her birth.

She arrived with five minutes to spare on her due date!  Both our babes born on their due dates...wonder if future blessings will follow suit?!  She came a little faster as we arrived at the hospital around 10pm (thinking we might not be very far along and would get sent home) and she was born at 11:55pm.

We have literally hit the nurse jackpot with both of our deliveries.  Such a blessing nurse Pat was to us.  We even got to see our nurse from when we delivered L while we were in the hospital!  Wow those two women will forever be on my list of heroes.

Our little family of four.  "Praise God from whom all blessings flow!"  She was born in the same room as her big brother.

The midwife who delivered Emma was on call the next night and came in to check on us before his shift ended...in the early morning.  I don't know if there has been an announcement that has made me happier than to here from him that I was dilated 8cm at the first check!  Whew...that meant we were really close to being finished with labor.  The Babies Daddy still teases me by exclaiming, "Praise the Lord" with a super exaggerated southern accent...that's what I said after the check.

We got to spend some extra time in the hospital and were kicked out to the same smaller room we moved into with L.

P&G and Aunt DayDay and her crew were in town for the festivities!

Another glow worm baby for a few days!  She didn't seem to mind, Sweet Girl!

2 Years Old!

Well, you are two and we cannot believe our eyes.

You talk and talk and talk...putting together complete sentences.  I often find myself wondering how you know a word and how to correctly use it.  (Specifically, you say, "I'm two."  I've never told you, "I'm thirty," so I don't know how you made that connection.  But, it works and you amaze me.  Daily.)

You know your colors...and even know brown, pink and black which I have not really taught.

You count.  This I know I have not done much with you so I guess you picked it up while you slept.

I maybe have mentioned this before but I'm not sure and I want to remember these things.  You have had some very sweet moments with your friends that show me that God is working in your heart to be caring and compassionate.  One time at E's house D really wanted a particular truck and was really sad that E had that truck and he did not.  You went and found a similar truck and gave it to D.  Another day, E was hanging out with us for a bit and he was super sad for his Mommy to be leaving him.  You found what you know to be his favorites of your toys and took them to him.  Sweet boy.  None of this is of you or our expert parenting...everything good in you is from God.  We pray God will continue to work in your life even at two years old and you will walk with him all of your days.

Now, for some photos.  I'm not a big picture taker and we got an iPad a couple of months ago that I have pictures on but have not figured out how to blog from (need and app) so those two things equate to few pictures and blog posts.  Sorry. :/  We love you and love love love watching you grow up.  You are such a blessing!

You are most definitely your mother's child...your favorite things are ice cream, mac-n-cheese and chocolate.  And, you've become quite a morning person....which you could turn more like your Daddy on this one if you would like. ;)

You sure love you some ice cream.

You went to you first real college football game.  You were a little uncertain at first but were so great the whole time and it was fun for us to watch you take in it all.  You still talk about going to a football game.  When someone drives by you've told me they are going to a football game and you often ask for PawPaw to take you to a football game.

Rest assured, your first actual sporting event to attend was a Razorback baseball game.

This is from your birthday party!  Some of your favs eating your favs!  More photos and a post to come about this event.  (Maybe.)  Thankfully, we have friends who take photos.

2 and almost 2...time flies.
Your Daddy comes home from work, changes clothes and goes to "stretch out his back."  You've started joining him.
Sweet boys

You were 35 inches tall and I don't know how much you weighed at your dr appointment.  But, she asked if we were brushing your teeth and I had to admit...not very often. :/  She suggested an electric toothbrush and we've been trying to regularly brush your chompers.

You like it, I think.

23 months

Seriously, you cannot almost be 2...

You are so friendly and will say, "Hi," and wave to anybody and everybody.  I particuarly love to hear you say, "Hi, Mama."

Your language skills are definitely expanding.  Some "sentences" you have said lately; "More peach please." and "Mama out shower."  You will also gibber and jabber than say, "Yeah" as if you are saying, "You know/You got that/You agree."  I have not the slightest idea what you just said.

First booboo on your nose/forehead (I actually can't believe it didn't come sooner.)
You have started saying, "Yay."  I walked into the room the other day and you said, "Mama, yay!"  I told you we were going to see your friends and you said, "Arwen, yay!  Ephraim, yay!  Derek, yay!"

You love these nesting dolls and will sit and play with them for a long time

You learned a new trick...

It's called stab the fry.

Butterfly, bye bye

Your Great Aunt Sue gave you a container with THREE cocoons! You were a little rough with it so I was sceptical that they would survive.  But, your Daddy looked at them the other day and there was a butterfly flying around.  We checked him out, then let him go.

Check out the video of the departure:

Someone got a little startled. ;)

Since then, we let another butterfly go, are waiting to see if butterfly #3 breaks out and I just saw TWO caterpillars!  You will look off the balcony and say, "butterfly, bye bye," or "butterfly flew away."
